    Description

A Group Of China Culture Revolution Chairman Mao Poem Portrait Silk Embroideries.
This group of embroidered silk panels were products from the Chinese culture revolution era from the 1960’s to the 1970’s. They are silk embroidered Chairman Mao - Mao Zedong’s portrait and poems. Even though Mao Zedong’s policies and political views are highly debatable, he was a great poet and a master in Chinese calligraphy. It makes these silk panels highly collectable.
These panels were made in Hangzhou, the silk capital of China.
These panels were from the collection of a UC Berkeley art professor, art collector and world traveler’s collection. He and his wife traveled to more than 100 countries.
