) by completely removing the Pi's Linux operating system and replacing it with a lightweight "bare metal OS" (hence the name), which implements

the features necessary to support the
Vice
Commodore Emulator (indisputably the best emulator, with the most features and widest range of compatibility).
As a result, the Pi boots

into the Commodore emulator
within 4 seconds
and all screen refreshes and
raster updates are
extremely
accurate. This makes it easy to forget you're using an emulator.

he BMC64 Keyboard / Joystick breakout module makes that possible, by offering support for a real C64 keyboard and two joysticks!
The module includes it's own "retro-authentic" power switch, which matches the look and dimensions of the C64's original switch
There's even
support for the C64's original 3 pin power LED light, which completes the retro look and feel.
This module offers superior input performance, lower latency and better key mapping than
competing
products, such as the Keyrah.
What's Included with this "Sixteen Piece Kit":
A Fully Assembled Keyboard, Joystick, Power and LED Module*, which is ready to be installed into your Commodore 64c "wedge style" case and connected to your Raspberry Pi 3 (or 3B) -
The module has been extensively tested using the "CRL Joystick and Keyboard Testing and Diagnostics Utility", to ensure complete and accurate functionality of all key presses and joystick positions
A complete set of 3D Printed parts that will enable you to mount your Raspberry Pi 3 (or 3B) into a real C64c style wedge case, as well as a set of mounts for a real C64 keyboard and all required cabling (please see pictures)
A complete set of cables to facilitate: power transfer from the Keyboard / Joystick module to the Pi, GPIO Communications from the Keyboard Joystick Module to the Pi, as well as high quality video output from the Pi to any HDMI compatible display
A power supply adapter rated for American 110VAC outlets which plugs directly into the included Keyboard Joystick Module. The module will transfer power to the PI and to the C64's power LED when the onboard power switch is activated
A 16GB micro SD flash card, which has been preloaded with the latest BMC64 build version and preconfigured to support the keyboard / joystick module. The card will also include some sample games, demos and utilities for your enjoyment
