    W.E. Swift & Co. 1896 Palestine, Texas GOOD FOR 5¢ IN MERCHANDISE NW STAMP WORKS St. Paul Minn.
    Counterstamped "C" 26 mm; listed at 412 Spring St. in 1898-99 city directory of Palestine, Texas. I found this at an antique store, it looks like it was found with a metal detector but I was glad to have a piece of Texas history that is now 125 years old. There are a few better & worse examples on this website,
